12,000 individual steel members were fabricated at our St-Romuald plant and shipped over 2,000 miles to the project location.

Union Carbide's ethylene glycol plant in Prentiss, Alberta was already a massive chemicals production facility before they announced an expansion plan in 1998. The recently completed project has since increased the plant's annual capacity to 760,000 tonnes.

A Big Facility. A Big Country.

Fluor Daniel led the project's development with incredible efficiency. They engineered the project with in conjunction with Bantrel, and also served as general contractor. It was Flour Daniel that brought Supermetal into the development team after we proved our ability to provide steel to the far off location.

Virtually crossing the entire country of Canada, our shipping partners managed to effectively move over 5,500 tons of fabricated steel from our plant in Eastern Canada to the jobsite in the Western province of Alberta. The total project required 12,000 individual pieces, many of which were large, complex and required careful handling.

The $300 million expansion was completed on time.
