Description:
IOC is the largest manufacturer of iron ore pellets in Canada the company operates a mine, concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, NL, port facilities in Sept-Îles, QC and a 418-km railroad that links the mine to the port. The $500 million new expansion will provide 4,000,000 tons of increased concentrate capacity per year. It comprises of an overland conveyor to remove bottlenecks in the current ore delivery system, a fourth grinding mill, and associated mine and rail equipment.
Supermétal's contract through Bechtel, Montreal, incorporated design assist, fabricate, paint and install of the cantilever towers supporting a new conveyor system providing minimal impact on the existing Ore Storage facility.
