Supermetal Names New Western Canada Manager in Edmonton

Edmonton (Alberta) - André Bouchard, President and General Manager of Supermetal Structures Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Jean-François Leclerc, Eng., as the new Western Division Manager, effective June 2008.

Having joined Supermetal in 2001, Jean-François Leclerc, 34, has been till now Project Manager at the company's head office based in St-Romuald, Québec. Energetic, passionate and widely recognized as a natural leader, his mission will be to consolidate Supermetal's stronghold in Western Canada, a fast-growing market where the company is succeeding at an unprecedented rate and level.

"Jean-François Leclerc's promotion is a perfect fit with the Company's momentum in Alberta", said Bouchard. "Having achieved such a good and strong reputation through professional, high-quality service and delivery, we now need to expand our team by recruiting and training new and locally based Project Managers to maintain client satisfaction and continue seizing the most promising business opportunities".

In Alberta, the demand for structural steel is huge, both for commercial and industrial buildings. Supermetal has recently signed a contract for the construction of the prestigious Racing Entertainment Centre in Calgary, a workload of nearly 2 000 tons. This modern, state-of-the-art recreational facility has a seating capacity of 10 000 and comprises a wide array of secondary services. The company was also granted a major contract by Hitachi America for the new Epcor/Transalta Keephills 3 electric coal generator facility near Edmonton. This project of more than 3 000 tons of steel encompasses the Turbine Room, Pumping Station and Control Room as well as Water Treatment.

In addition, Supermetal will move in April to a brand-new 5 000 ton-a-year facility in Leduc, near Edmonton. Highly modern, equipped with state-of-the-art digital control equipment, this new plant will increase efficiency, keep up with the growing demand and remain among the top structural steel manufacturers in Alberta.
