Supermetal is contracted by Macomber for a 2000 ton project in Boston
St. Romuald, Quebec - Known as Brighton Landing, the project will include the renovation of the existing seven-story building that will provide offices for staff. It also will entail the construction of an adjacent building that will house WGBH's technical facilities, TV and radio studios and associated offices.
The relocation of the public broadcaster will provide the consolidation of WGBH's multiple facilities into one 181,000 square foot office building and a 130,000 square foot state-of-the-art studio facility, to be built on two acres.
Macomber has been working extensively in preconstruction with WGBH and the design team of Polshek Partnership Architects and Janson Design Group on its new headquarters project. Supermetal Structures has been awarded the structural steel fabrication and installation package of the project. The main challenge of the project being the construction of the connector bridge composed of giant trusses joining the studio building to the headquarters building.
