New image and website to celebrate Supermetal’s 50th anniversary this year
Saint-Romuald(Québec), February 23, 2009 – This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of Supermetal Structures Inc.. By way of kicking off the festivities, the structural steel producer is proud today to launch its new image, website (www.supermetal.com) and motto, ‘Strength and Flexibility’, which distinguishes the company and its values.
‘Supermetal’s success over 50 years is based on a well-established culture of team work. The strength and flexibility that team work provides have made Supermetal grow from a local company in Quebec to one that extends throughout the entire continent,all while sustaining industrial peace for three decades and succeeding inmaking a harmonious transition between two, and soon three, generations ofexecutives,’ said Supermetal General Manager Jean-François Blouin.
Supermetal’s new graphic identity involves a stylized ‘S’ that represents the dynamism and modernism of the company. The blue was retained because it has always been the colour associated with Supermetal. The motto ‘Strength and Flexibility’ emphasizes that Supermetal is a solid and reliable partner that knows how to show great adaptability in responding to its clients’ requirements. ‘This year,we are going to celebrate team work in order to stress its importance to our future. Because of it, we enjoy an excellent reputation, retain our employees, and maintain a very satisfying working atmosphere,’ according to Mr. Blouin.
Founded in Quebec in 1959 by Léonce et Gérard Bouchard, Supermetal has produced several steel structures that are well-known in the region, such as the Quebec Coliseum, Les Galeries de la Capitale, a large shopping mall, and the Quebec Courthouse. During the 1980s and 1990s, through the impetus of the three current executives, André Bouchard, Jacques Blouin and Michel Marcotte, the company carved out an enviable place in the Quebec and American North East markets. Andit’s the third generation that is responsible for the manufacturer’sbreakthrough in western Canada.
